Last night we celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary. John made the reservations and I did something different with my hair and makeup.
For the first time I curled my hair with a flat iron, applied red lip, and did the smoky eye look. It all came together quite well if I saw so myself! I used handy old Pinterest for inspiration.
John surprised me by taking us to the big city of Portland and we went up 30 floors to the Portland City Grill. We didn't get a window seat, but I could still see the rainy city lights.
They decorated our table with little hearts and "Happy Anniversary" confetti.
I tried the Lavender Cosmo. It was so tasty!
First we had the Shared Plate of Fice Spice Peking Duck, steamed buns, Kim Che, greens, and sesame hoisin. A delicious appetizer and could be a light meal.
Our main course came after a mixed greens salad which had a light vinaigrette.
John's main course was the Goat Cheese and Prosciutto Stuffed Boneless Half Chicken with Cipollini Onions, Yukon Gold Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, Lemon Garlic Pan Jus, and Collared Greens.
While I went with the Filet Mignon (St. Helens 28-day aged | Medium Rare) with Rogue River Triple Crème Gorgonzola Sauce, and Yukon Gold Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Asparagus. We also ordered the White Cheddar Mac & Cheese to share.
And to our delight, Portland City Grill gave us a dessert to share for our Anniversary. It was chocolate mouse with a hint of banana with dark chocolate sauce and other delicious goodies.
At the end we asked a hostess to take a photo of us in front of the wine racks.
Then I took a photo of us in the reflection of the elevator.
We had a great night. And there are many more to come!
